One a Wintery day in 2020, Mrs. Wong from Texas, was browsing through Mr. Xu's Wechat Moments, the Chinese version of Facebook, and saw a 15 cts Emerald Stone Mr. Xu had posted earlier. She was immediately drawn to it and inquired about the price of the stone right away.

However, someone else acted faster and already placed a deposit on that stone by the time, Mrs. Wong reached out.  So Mr. Xu promised Mrs. Wong that he would find another stone in the 15 cts range just for her.

Mr. Xu got to work and reached out to his miner friend in Columbia for help and this 14.73 cts stone was recommended. It is a perfectly cut and polished stone with strong luster and color, and exceptional clarity and transparency for a stone this size. Gubelin states in its gem report that this is of Columbian origin and strong saturation, and has minor clarity enhancement. GRS on ther other hand, states in their findings that this is from Columbia but of Insignificant clarity enhancement.

The client had seen an Emerald necklace at one of the major jewelry brands and wanted a similar one made by using this center stone.

When the piece was finished in 2021, Mr. Xu traveled to Texas, personally delivering it to the client, in the midst of the Covid pandemic. He had to go through 3 weeks of quarantine when he returned to China that year, in compliance with the Chinese government draconian measures to combat the virus.

A year later, in 2022, the client commissioned Mr. Xu to reset the stone in the current mounting, a more elaborate and feminine style. She often wears this piece to important social gatherings and functions.
